Abstract

Lenticule extraction refractive surgeries, with its obvious advantages of being flapless, minimally invasive with less alteration in corneal biomechanical parameters and lesser post operative dry eye, are gaining momentum as an effective alternative to flap-based refractive surgeries for myopia and myopic astigmatism. Advancements in parameters like laser frequency, energy delivery patterns, instrumentation and improved surgical techniques have significantly improved the surgical outcomes of these lenticule-based procedures. While these benefits and initial outcomes are promising, the long-term impact and revolutionary potential of lenticule -based procedure warrant a detailed discussion.
