Abstract

"Comprehensive pediatric ocular evaluation is a challenging task . Considering the very short span of examination time available in an uncooperative child , a focused evaluation is mandatory to avoid missing salient findings. In this instruction course, we have included the common eye conditions in the paediatric population and have devised a structured plan for its assessment, diagnosis and management. Assessment of visual acuity in children ,refraction and glass prescription is an art. Evaluation and management of the common conditions causing squint eye and leukocoria in children is also included. A comprehensive approach to evaluation and management of watering from eyes , and retinal pathologies in children including ROP is also dealt with. Overall, in this instruction course,comprehensive ocular examination in a child is presented in a nutshell. "
