Abstract

This instruction course offers a dynamic exploration of the rapidly evolving landscape of ophthalmic technology, where smartphone-based diagnostics, artificial intelligence (AI), 3D printing, and mobile health applications converge to transform eye care delivery. Framed as a “time-lapse” journey, the session will chart the progression of these innovations from concept to clinical reality, with a focus on their relevance in resource-limited and remote settings. Attendees will gain practical exposure to smartphone imaging techniques, AI-assisted diagnostic tools, and the design of customized ophthalmic devices using 3D printing.
