Abstract

Dry eye disease, dubbed a 21st epidemic is escalating in prevalence, affecting individuals across all age groups,from young to old. Lifestyle shifts, notably prolonged digital screen exposure, combined with environmental factors, significantly contribute to this trend. The chronic nature of the disease, the poor quality of life of these individuals and persistent patient complaints pose challenges for treating clinicians as well. However, advancements in diagnostic technology, innovative therapeutic agents, and emerging research in the field offer hope for improved management and potential solutions to combat this growing health concern.
